The solar passive designed dollhouse features a wind turbine and a solar cell panel with electrical inverter for generating electricity, a rain barrel for collecting rain, a green fa?ade which helps control the appropriate temperature of the house, and a shade canopy that can be pulled down preventing or allowing the wind and sunlight coming through. Also, recycle bins are included in the set.

   The concept of a lifelike dollhouse was a bit foreign to our toddler, but soon enough, her Fisher-Price Little People moved in; and both big and small versions meshed well with the furniture. Then the Asian family with baby and nursery decided to eat and sleep outdoors. Then the kitchen was converted into a garage with a stop sign to mark the end of the parking spot — which we took to mean that she wanted our car back in the garage as she had often mentioned. Maybe any dollhouse would have done the job of allowing the child to express herself but this one is great because it is open on all sides, and raises discussions about conservation. Although well-designed and built, this toy is probably more appropriate for children who are willing to be gentle with their toys. The quality is absolutely amazing: no loose threads, soft fabrics, no exposed glue, and everything fits together like a beautiful puzzle.

   I’ve been wanting to get my two children a dollhouse and when I saw that there were a couple of eco-dollhouses on the market, I was sold. After looking at this and another option, I chose this one because I liked the shade and the furniture design. Although it didn’t come with any people, it was fully furnished and I was able to order people to go with it. The house is very eco-friendly. It is made of recycled wood and rubber wood and there is minimal paint used on it. Also the bedding is made of organic cotton. The only aspect of the house I am not thrilled with is the design of the windmill: it doesn’t turn which isn’t very fun for the girls. The recycle bins and rain barrel are neat–I’m going to get some pieces of paper and plastic to put into the bins. My mother-in-law gave us the garden which is the perfect companion to the house. Overall, a great toy.

   We have been happy with all our Plan Toys purchases. This is a great house. The green concept is very good. We also like the green commitment of the company itself.

   I almost didn’t get this dollhouse for my 2.5 year old because there were no reviews on it and I didn’t know how much she would like it but I am SO happy that I got in anyway! She LOVES this dollhouse. When she saw this house on Christmas morning all of her other presents didn’t exist anymore. She started playing with the house immediately. I did buy one of the Plan Toys family sets to go with it and she loves playing with her “little people” and her dollhouse.

   The house itself was really easy to put together and looks great! It’s also fun to point out and talk about the solar panel and wind power parts. She enjoys playing with the recycling bins too. It’s great that the house comes with furniture but I have to be honest that at my daughters age she doesn’t really seem to care about it too much. It mostly just winds up on the floor and she plays with the family in the house without the furniture. One day she will use the furniture so it’s nice to have it.

   The dollhouse is really well made. I mean, my daughter is tough on toys and this one is taking her beating REALLY well. Nothing broken so far.

   It’s a wonderful looking dollhouse. It’s a great size and she will get many years of play out of it. She loves playing with it and it’s well made. What more could I ask for?
